You can play Ball Quiz without an account. This policy explains what the site records when you play, what becomes public, and how to contact us about your information.
Who runs Ball Quiz
Ball Quiz is a BusinessPress project at ball-quiz.com. Contact the operator about privacy, account access or data requests at [email protected]. The same address handles questions about this policy.
Information the site collects
- Game results: completed rounds contain the game type, score, correct answers, question count, time taken, answers and completion date. A hashed session identifier associates a guest round with its browser session. Signed-in rounds also contain the account identifier.
- Optional accounts: we store your chosen name, email address, a hashed password and saved activity. Your chosen name can appear publicly beside completed scores. Use a nickname if you do not want your real name on a leaderboard. Your email and password are not displayed with scores.
- Technical requests: hosting and security systems process IP addresses, browser information, requested URLs and request times to deliver the website, diagnose failures and protect it against abuse.
- Tracked external links: our redirect service records the destination, source category and related football record, market identifier and click time. New click records do not store your IP address, browser user agent, referring page or account identifier. Older records may contain those details from the previous implementation. A direct link to another website does not use this service.
- Messages: if you email us, we receive your email address, message and any information or attachments you choose to send.
The map challenge asks you to choose a club's country. It does not request your device's GPS location.
Why we use this information
We use game information to run rounds, prevent duplicate scoring, show completed results and understand which questions players find difficult. Account information provides the account and saved-score features you request. Redirect counts help us understand use of external source links. Technical information helps us keep the site working and secure. Messages let us answer questions, investigate corrections and handle privacy or rights requests.
Where European or UK data-protection law applies, the purposes and legal bases are providing the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating a secure and fair game, consent for optional advertising technologies where required, and compliance with applicable legal obligations. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent for optional processing. Quiz scoring does not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Google advertising and your choices
Ball Quiz has applied to Google AdSense. Advertising is not active during the initial review setup. The following explains the data use when Google advertising is enabled; it does not mean that an ad is currently loading on this page.
Third-party vendors, including Google, can use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to Ball Quiz or other websites. Google's advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to personalise ads using those visits. Ad serving can also involve web beacons, IP addresses, browser or device identifiers and information about the page you visit, for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention.
Where consent is required, optional advertising technologies must remain subject to your consent choices. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, advertising will use a Google-certified consent management platform. Its consent notice identifies participating vendors and purposes and provides choices, including a way to withdraw consent. Declining optional advertising consent does not require you to create an account to play.
When advertising is enabled, visitors in supported US states can use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” control to opt out of the sale or sharing of information for advertising. The Google privacy message communicates that choice to Google. See Google's explanation of US privacy messages. For European consent, use the “Privacy and cookie settings” link supplied with the advertising consent message to manage or withdraw your choice.
Learn how Google uses information from partner websites and read Google's privacy policy. You can control personalised advertising in Google My Ad Center. Some other vendors offer choices through the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out tool or their own privacy pages. Browser cookie controls are an additional option; they do not replace the site's consent controls.
We do not give Google your account email address or password as advertising data. First-party game statistics are used to operate and improve the games.
Service providers and external websites
Website hosting, content delivery, security and email providers process information needed to provide their services. Ball Quiz uses Cloudflare for website delivery and security. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Some real club crests load from external image hosts, including Sportmonks. Country flags load from FlagCDN. The map challenge loads the MapLibre library from unpkg and uses locally hosted country shapes; it does not use Mapbox. Your browser sends these providers technical request information, including its IP address, when requesting an asset. See Sportmonks' privacy policy and information about FlagCDN and unpkg.
Polymarket information is retrieved by our server and shown as a sourced, time-stamped snapshot. Following a source link opens an external website with its own terms and privacy practices. Ball Quiz does not receive your Polymarket login, hold funds or execute trades. Read Polymarket's privacy policy before using that service.
External providers may process information in countries outside your own. Their policies explain their processing locations and applicable safeguards. Contact us if you need more information about a provider involved in your request.
How long information is kept
Account details are kept while you maintain an account. Completed game results are kept for score history, leaderboards and game statistics until removed; they do not expire when your session ends. We use your messages for the enquiry and any necessary follow-up. Application error logs are kept to diagnose technical problems and security incidents until reviewed and removed; older application logs have no automatic expiry. Hosting and security providers also have their own operational retention for logs and backups.
When you confirm “Delete account” in your profile, we delete the account together with its account-linked quiz results and tracked-link records. Aggregated club-question counters remain without an account attribution. You can also request removal of a guest result, an older tracked-link record or a message. We may need to retain limited information where required by law or necessary to resolve a security incident or dispute. Copies in backups can remain until the relevant backup is replaced. Removing a browser cookie does not delete a stored score.
Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, restrict processing, object to processing and withdraw consent. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority. These rights may have limits under applicable law.
Email [email protected] with the request and enough information to identify the relevant account or round. For an account request, use the email linked to it. We may need to verify identity before sharing or deleting information. Never send your password. Account profile settings also let you update your name and email or delete the account.
Ball Quiz is a general-audience football games site. If you believe a child has provided personal information that should be removed, contact us. This policy will be updated when the site's data handling changes.
