Content & data guidelines
How the games are built, what the answers mean, and how to report a correction. Updated 9 October 2026.
A football game with something to learn
Ball Quiz makes original, playable challenges from real club records. The value is in choosing a collection, recognising a crest, locating a club, receiving answer feedback and reviewing mistakes. Our written explanations help players understand the game and the football information it uses.
We do not present imported data as reporting from a newsroom, or publish invented match results, popularity claims or club identities. A large database does not mean every record is complete or current.
Where the football data comes from
The club database includes imported football-provider records, including Sportmonks identifiers and crest assets, plus stored country and competition information. Fixtures and recorded competition participation help define league collections. The site uses the available stored records rather than claiming that every item is refreshed live.
Club and competition names identify the real subjects. External crest URLs may change or stop working. We use readable name fallbacks on reference pages; a failed badge image during a question should not reveal the answer. Country flags come from FlagCDN. The map uses locally hosted Natural Earth country shapes, which are public-domain geographic data.
What a collection includes
- Regional collections group clubs by their recorded home-country geography.
- Country collections use the recorded country label for a club. A club's home country is not a claim about the nationality of its players.
- League collections use recorded participation in the named competition. They may include clubs from earlier seasons, rather than only the current league roster.
We offer a collection only when it has enough eligible club records to support a real game. We avoid publishing empty collection pages or treating different wordings of the same pool as new games.
Answers, scoring and geography
A badge answer identifies the club represented by the stored crest. Country answers use the club's stored home country. These records can contain outdated badges, spelling variants or incorrect mappings, which is why correction reports matter.
Map shapes are simplified and may omit very small countries. Answer buttons remain available as an alternative to pointing at the map. Scores, submitted answers and round progress are controlled by the server. Feedback stays visible until the player chooses the next question, and completed rounds provide a chance to review mistakes.
Match probabilities are snapshots
The separate match-probability pages show football markets matched to their source event, with the last successful update time. A stored market price is not a live quote, a forecast we endorse or a confirmed match result. Missing data stays unknown; stale data must not be relabelled as fresh.
Prediction-market information is secondary to the free games. We do not publish instructions to bet, guaranteed-win claims or prompts to chase losses. Ball Quiz does not take deposits or execute trades. Source links lead to a third-party service with its own rules and restrictions.
Corrections and rights requests
Send the club or page URL, the suspected error and a supporting source to [email protected]. Official club, competition or federation sources are useful when checking a name, crest or home country. We assess the report against the relevant record and can correct a mapping, update an explanation or remove an unsuitable item.
Club crests and competition marks remain the property of their respective rights holders. Ball Quiz is independent; displaying a mark does not imply permission from, endorsement by or affiliation with a club. Rights holders can contact us about a correction or removal. We do not claim that a disclaimer replaces any necessary permission.
Advertising and commercial links
Advertising, if activated, must be clearly identifiable and separate from game answers and navigation. It must not ask players to click an ad to continue or imply that an ad is an answer, a reward or a required action. Consent choices are described in the privacy policy.
Commercial relationships must be disclosed where the link or promotion appears. An advertiser or referral arrangement does not determine quiz answers or turn market information into a recommendation. Read the terms of use for the rules of playing and using external links.
